With varied experience—referencing books, personal contacts, and online resources—I am comfortable to translate documents. I am proficient in English, French, Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese and have limited experience in Danish, German, Icelandic, Norwegian, and Swedish.
Using the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), I write phonetic guides and create audio recordings of text recitation as well as syllable-by-syllable tutorials. Here is an example of the format for IPA guides, from Orlande de Lassus’s chanson Mon cœur se recommande à vous :
Past projects include:
• translation of a letter from French composer Henri Duparc to composer Ernest Chausson
• translation and French IPA transcription of Maurice Ravel’s opera L’Enfant et les Sortilèges
• translation and French IPA transcription of multiple selections from Ernest Chausson’s Sept mélodies
• spoken phonetic guides of Brazilian Portuguese songs by Alberto Nepomuceno and Osvaldo Lacerda
• translation and Brazilian Portuguese IPA transcription of choral-orchestral work Rasga o coração by Heitor Villa-Lobos
My fee for translation is determined case-by-case. Contact me with specifics on what you envision, and we will negotiate a fee.
